I just purchased this Comfort Furnace XL model so I don't know yet if it will be as good as the Comfort Furnace I bought last year from this website. I hardly turned up my main heating unit last winter and was able to use the portable heater most of the time. I live in Iowa so it can get pretty chilly and I found that the Comfort Furnace was able to heat about half of my home's space. What I did was to just roll the heater to whatever part of the house I was in and I stayed very warm that way. I bought this heater to put on the other side of my house and believe that will cover the majority of my heating needs. I don't know the exact figures but I at least saved enough on heating oil costs last winter to pay for the Comfort Furnace I bought last year and this unit too with plenty to spare. So I have to say that I am very satisfied with these products.

First thing this morning my Comfort Furnace heater arrived from UPS. I believe the cabinet to be as handsome in person as it is in the pictures. It is indeed cold enough where I live to already turn the heater on this morning. So far I am impressed with the way it functions. It warmed my family room within 5 minutes or so and the tile in my kitchen was no longer cold. I also have the front window cracked open for fresh air. I will put the heater through its paces but I am very pleased thus far.

Only had mine for week now but super product. Its heavier than I thought but with the wheels it rolls just fine. Not really a big deal but theres really no other criticism I have. Its put together really well and works great. Shipping was fast which is nice espcially since it was free. I\'d give 4.9 out of 5 stars.

So many times in my life I have received mediocre service that I come to expect it. Therefore, when I receive service that is so far and above par I feel obliged to point it out. Mine is a very long story, however, the shortened version is that I needed to change the address to where this Comfort heater was to be shipped-not once but twice. I received the most gentle and respectful treatment from this company on each of my telephone calls. I have not yet received the heater (the fault being my own) so this is not a product review. This is to say that the service is truly remarkable. My sincere thanks goes out and will be repeated time and again to my friends and colleagues. - SC

i usually don't write reviews but i have to this time. so i looked at the comfort furnace heaters a couple of years ago but decided that i'd buy another brand. i did that because it cost half as much as the comfort furnace. i thought at the time that i was making a good decision. i thought that the extra money was for the looks of the comfort furnace only and that it would basically do the same thing. it turned out to be an awful idea. i was no enthusiastic at all with this other infrared heater. i stop using it completely after about a month and put it away with my exercise equipment and forgot about it until the next year. so last winter i decided to pull it out and give it another try. i think it worked for about 2 or 3 weeks before it died. so i was nervous about buying another infrared heater. when i had to make a bulk buy of propane for this winter i decided to try the comfort furnace to save some money. i actually only did this because i could return it if it was just as bad as the other heater. first thing that hits you when you open the box is that this comfort furnace is NOTHING like the other brand. it looks great yes but it solid and quiet and actually works as advertised. i was blown away and i have not a thing bad to say about it. like the old saying goes you get what you pay for. i read the review that said it was heavy but i don't think it is. it's probably 20 pounds or so which is fine with the caster wheels underneath. i've only had this comfort furnace for a few weeks but i already have got more use out of it in the first night than i did with the other heater in a couple of months. thanks.

I like my Comfort Furnace XL very much. I am even more excited about it now that I have it than when I ordered it....which is a great thing! I received my order quickly and every part of the transaction was smooth as silk. Great job, great company, great product. You have made a happy customer out of me!

I am surfing the web for the first time on my smartphone and the first thing I thought to do was to leave a review about my new Comfort Furnace. I think that says something about how I feel about it and it is all good. I chose the right heater from the right place and I feel great about the decision. I probably looked at 100 websites and 50 heaters before I decided on this one. Like I said I could not be happier.

We just purchased our XL on Sunday, Oct. 16th. Many are aware that heat rises. I sleep on the floor because of my back and dread cold temps., as I get cold easily anyway. Not any more. I can sleep in warm cosy comfort now. My husband set it at 74 degrees. Our home thermostat reads 67 degrees. We haven't turned our furnace on yet - with outside temps dropping into the low 40's. Our XL does not run constantly to maintain the 74 degree temp. It shuts itself off and on again as regulated. We're trying it out as we're considering purchasing one for our two, grown, children's households as an early Christmas present. I look forward to reviewing comparisons from this upcoming winter electric bill to last years. I am an ultra-conservatist, who does not spend, but likes to save. I believe this XL will pay for it'self, freeing many dollars to be spent or invested elsewhere. I'm counting on it to be a smart investment. Let the warm savings begin - - -.

About a month ago I picked up a infrared heater from the Farm and Fleet that cost over 100 bucks less than this one. I had been on this page and read up on these Comfort heaters but I just couldnt see paying a 100 bucks more. Stupid. The duraflame I picked up couldnt heat one room right. I know Im mad about it but Id be suprised if it could heat a corner of a room right. Thought it was broke so exchanged it. Same thing. It was a heap of time and money to waste. I was going to say screw the whole thing but ordered this Comfort XL heater. Like night and day man. Like night and day. Thats all I can say. Does the job just as it should and puts in an extra effort besides. Good stuff.

I just purchased my Comfort Heater XL from your website (after seeing it at Tractor Supply Co) and last evening was the first time I turned it on. I usually don't leave reviews but this time I had to. I have electric baseboard heating and that gets expensive, so in years past I haven't turned on the heat until mid-November. This year is different. We are having Nov. weather in mid-Oct. I have a ranch house so I put the heater in the hall so it would cover all the rooms on the first floor. The temperature outside was 41 degrees and my bedroom before I turned the Comfort Heater on was 61 degrees and a bit chilly. Within a few minutes the chill was out of the air and within 10- 15 minutes the house warmed up. My bedroom was nice and toasty. The Comfort Heater is fantastic! I have pets and feel safe using the Comfort Heater. I even found my cat sleeping on top of the heater. The only problem I had with the heater was when the cat jumped off, the heater went rolling. I had to put something to block one of the wheels so the heater wouldn't move. I highly recommend Comfort Heaters. They are great!

i live in a 1000 sq ft townhouse..... 500 sq ft up stairs and 500 sq ft ground level... will one heater take the chill off the whole place?
Mirage Customer Servicewrote on 10/24/2011 @ 04:31:55 pm
Patty: Thanks for the question! One Comfort Furnace XL will cover either your upstairs or ground level completely. But if you place the unit on the ground level near the stairs, the Comfort Furnace will take the chill off some portion of the upper floor as well (as the heat from the ground floor rises). In general, we usually recommend one infrared heater per floor, but the dimensions of your home are right in-between. If you are using the Comfort Furnace as a supplement to central heating, it will go even further in taking the chill off both levels. One of the nice things about our units is their portability, so you could move the Comfort Furnace XL to whatever floor you are occupying at any given time. And remember, you have a full 30 days after you receive your infrared heater to return it if it's not the perfect fit for your situation. Just give us a call and we'll have it picked up for you. Thanks so much for your interest!

UPS left box on doorstep, the box got all wet because it was raining!!! Wonder why I didn't want it shipped there?

I was just wondering approx. how much per hour does it cost to run?
Mirage Customer Servicewrote on 10/27/2011 @ 07:55:00 pm
Pam: That's a great question! There are many variables, but the average Comfort Furnace customer in the U.S. uses less than a dollar per day of electricity to power the unit. That estimate is based on the Comfort Furnace being on for 8 hours during the day (when not running, it puts itself into sleep mode). So based on that average, it costs approximately 12.5 cents per hour of continual use. Thanks for the question!

So happy with this heater. Ordered it on Monday and it arrived yesterday. It really does heat from one wall to the other. Nothing like my old space heater. My living room and kitchen were warm all day and the bedrooms stayed very comfortable all night. I have already recommended it to 2 friends and my sister just this morning. I do not have a bad word to say about it. If anything pops up I will review again. Right now it is amazing.....

I got an Tractor Supply Co Ad 1 day sale showing this product. But still have a few questions.
1. If the bulb should need replacement can the owner do the replacement or does it need to be sent back for repair.
2. How much are the bulbs if you don\'t purchase the extended warranty.
3. Do they all come with a 6 ft cord do you have dimensions of CFL1500WT-XL model.
Mirage Customer Servicewrote on 11/03/2011 @ 10:37:38 am
Karen: Thanks for your questions! All of our heaters are designed for easy parts replacement. So the owner can definitely swap out parts when needed. The bulbs are $15.00 a piece, and there are four of them. The unit weighs 32 lbs., has a 6' cord, and is 19.5" x 16" x 19.25". We appreciate your interest!

Just wondering , I have a ranch home with a walkout exposed basement that gets very cold in the winter. We have been considering getting a pellet stove, however I am not convinced that they are worth the expense of buying the pellets and having to stock up on them for the winter. Has anyone come across a situation similar to this as I was thinking of putting one of these in the basement to help keep the upstairs warm and cut down on the furnace running. My basement would be pushing the 1000 square foot area as well so I am not sure if this product would be cost effective to my application. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Mirage Customer Servicewrote on 11/06/2011 @ 04:29:02 pm
Mr Jones: Considering that your basement is pushing 1000 square feet, and that it is a walkout exposed basement, the Comfort Furnace would not be able to keep the upstairs warm as well. Although, if you are looking to warm the basement only, the Comfort Furnace would almost certainly do the job - especially if it has an open layout. Keep in mind that you can try the Comfort Furnace for 30 days to see if it is right for your circumstances. If it is not, you can return it without any problems. Thank you for your interest!

Hi, My husband purchased the XL model this past weekend and we absolutely love it! I've turned the breaker off to our central heat unit and don't plan on using it again. I'm on an electric cooperative and I have access to my daily usage and this unit has not caused an increase in my normal wattage use yet.....I love it! Our home is about 1000 sq ft. and it heats it up nicely. I leave it set to a desired temp at night and then reset to a desired temp when I leave for work in the morning and when I return it's toasty in our home and there are no "cold" spots like with the central unit. I don't understand the science of that part of it and I don't need to, I just know it works and I'm planning on purchasing another one soon so when we enlarge our home we will be ready. Too bad your company doesn't offer air conditioners to do the same thing. :)
I do have one question for you: What is the Delayed Start Function? I didn't see anything about that in my hand book but I may have missed it. Thanks for such a great product!
Mirage Customer Servicewrote on 11/09/2011 @ 04:27:20 pm
Taylor: Thank you so much for the kind words about our products and for taking your time to leave a message about your experience! We're very happy that your Comfort Furnace is working out so well for you. The Delayed Start Function allows you to program a set amount of time before the Comfort Furnace starts automatically. That way, it won't run while you're away from home (conserving energy in the process). So for instance, if you'll be gone to work for 9 hours, you can set the Comfort Furnace to kick on in 8 1/2 hours, so that your house is warm before you return. Hope that answers your question, and thank you again so much!

how often do the bulbs need replacing and can you tell when a bulb is burned out. do you recommend the xl or the uv.
thanks
Mirage Customer Servicewrote on 11/13/2011 @ 02:04:36 pm
Mr. Weiler: Thank you for your questions. The bulbs have a lifespan of around 20,000 hours. You will notice a decreased output of heat when a bulb needs to be replaced, and the bulb itself will show physical signs when it burns out (a comparison with the other 3 bulbs will further help you make the identification). Both the XL and UV models have cabinets which are easy to open for checking the bulbs and replacing them when necessary.
The XL and UV models both have nearly identical operating properties. But if you'd like to have the added benefit of ultraviolet air purification, we'd recommend a UV. Otherwise, the XL will provide you with the same quality heat. The UV models run more quietly, although by only a very small degree. The XL is also virtually silent when it runs. In addition, the UV comes with a more advanced remote control. I hope these points help you with your decision.
Thanks again for your questions and your consideration!

You have superior technology, are manufactured from higher-quality materials I decide to buy one Confort Furnace. But you have many models:CF1500XP-UV., CF1500XWO-UV, CFXWT1500-UV, CF1500XHL...etc. Can you tell what are they different?
Mirage Customer Servicewrote on 11/15/2011 @ 12:39:58 am
Lesley: Thank you so much for the kind words. We do pride ourselves in offering the best infrared heaters in the industry, and appreciate your complements.
The heaters we offer are very similar, with the core technologies, features and benefits overlapping. The Comfort Furnace UV stands out as the unit with the most features, because of its ultraviolet air purification abilities, advance remote control and state-of-the art, ultra-quiet laminar fan system. There is no difference at all between the XP-UV, WO-UV or WT-UV except for the material that the cabinets are made from. And the heating capabilities and heating technologies of the UV and XL models are absolutely identical.
The Heat-A-Lot models also have identical heating functionality and technologies. However, they come with a credit-card style remote control, which handles all the day-to-day operating functions, but does not control all of the less frequently used capabilities at the tip of your fingers. The Heat-A-Lot was also designed to offer a different visual style to our customers.
In the end, all of the infrared heaters we offer will heat your home with the same efficiency. It really comes down to the extras you're looking for and the visual style that appeals to you most.
Thanks again, Lesley!

Hi, I was wondering is it safe to keep the Comfort Furnace running all the time. Set the temp to 72 and leave it for the winter
Mirage Customer Servicewrote on 11/19/2011 @ 05:11:35 pm
Greg: Thanks for the question! It is indeed safe to keep the Comfort Furnace running all the time, as they come equipped with a safety cut-off mechanism which is automatically triggered in case of any incident. Also, the heating elements are secured in a fireproof containment so that the heat source cannot start a fire. The Comfort Furnace was designed to "set it and forget it" and will even go into sleep mode when not needed to regulate the air temperature (to save money in energy costs). Once the air temperature drops below what you've set the thermostat to, the Comfort Furnace will "wake up" automatically. Thanks again!

Hello, I bought the Comfort Furnace UV and used it a few days at the beginning of the week. I am not sure if I am setting the thermostat correctly. I set in on 67 degrees but it never shut off. The heating elements and fan ran continually. I would think that because the heater did not go into sleep mode the cost of operating the unit would be more expensive. I live in a ranch style house and put it in my bedroom at the far end of the house facing down the hall into the living area. The central furnace came on intermittently while the heater was on. I have the main thermostat set at 66. My home is about 1144 square feet, so it is a little larger than the 1000 square feet and I am not sure if that has something to do with the heater staying on. I later put it in the middle of the hall and again faced it into the living area. It still does not seem to warm up the house that much. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks.
